Dentist anxiety — here's how we make it safe for you!

At Blid, we aim to help those with dental anxiety. We place great emphasis on creating a good relationship between you as a patient and us as caregivers. You are the one who knows where your limits are, and we emphasize communication between patient and caregiver to best take care of you as a patient. We always want to help you take care of your own dental health and go to great lengths to ensure that even those with dental anxiety feel calm in our clinics.

What can you do to prepare for a visit?

There are several small steps you can take to improve your visit with us if you are feeling anxious. When you book your appointment, simply inform us of your dental anxiety, and this will be taken into account during your visit. We have calm and reassuring caregivers who are used to patients having dental anxiety.

Some find the sound of the machines we use uncomfortable; this is understandable as they can be a bit noisy. Bring your own music or earplugs to block out the noise. In all our treatment rooms, we have a music system, and we are happy to change the music so you can listen to what makes you feel the most relaxed.

Others find it helpful to bring someone they trust who is calm and can accompany them during the appointment. We have extra chairs available for them to sit on. We do not charge extra for anesthesia, so you as a patient can feel assured that we focus on pain-free dental treatment and will ensure that you are well-numbed.

What we do for those with dental anxiety

We have great respect and empathy for those with dental anxiety. We go to great lengths to help you relax to make the visit less frightening so that the appointment is not postponed and your dental health does not deteriorate. Those who have dental anxiety often postpone an examination because they are unable to go or simply cannot bear the thought of someone being in their mouth.

It is very important to attend examinations even if you find it uncomfortable. This is to avoid any potential problems in your mouth from worsening and to spare you from large expenses. We have a desire to help and are here to assist you with your dental issues. We allocate ample time and can take breaks during treatment if you wish. We have great respect for those with dental anxiety and do not want this to be an obstacle to taking care of your teeth. Welcome!
