In total, the dentists at Blid have completed 500 treatments with invisible braces. The dentists who perform invisible braces at Blid participate in regular courses and seminars on aligner treatment, discuss treatment plans with each other, and work closely with orthodontists and other specialists in aligner treatment (both in Norway and abroad).

ClearCorrect® was developed in 2006, with custom aligners made specifically for the brand. Their patented material is made from polyurethane resin, designed to be easier to put on and take off, and more comfortable. Like Invisalign, ClearCorrect aligners are made without BPA and phthalates and have been FDA-approved. The ClearCorrect® treatment process is also very similar to that of Invisalign; aligners are provided in sets and require regular appointments with your dentist to monitor your progress. Dentists must complete basic training with ClearCorrect® to be a provider, and they must also be certified, licensed dentists. Similar to Invisalign, a dentist does not need to be an orthodontist to offer ClearCorrect®.

It is common to feel tenderness for the first two days when you have a new aligner. The discomfort gradually decreases, and the degree to which one experiences discomfort varies from person to person. A little tenderness is normal as your teeth move. This is also true for conventional braces. Most people become well accustomed to wearing aligners after a couple of weeks.

The aligners are made of plastic that is specially designed by ClearCorrect®. The aligners are thoroughly tested for biocompatibility (allergy-friendly). The aligners do not contain phthalates or parabens.

Yes, but it is not recommended. There is a greater chance of discoloration on the aligners, and this discoloration can be difficult to remove.

After completing treatment, it is important to stabilize the teeth so that they remain in the positions to which they have been moved. This can be done either with a removable retainer (which resembles the aligners but is stiffer) or by bonding a metal wire on the back of the front teeth. We recommend using the removable retainer for at least six months after treatment is completed, and then assessing the need for a metal wire. You can also choose to use the removable retainer longer instead of having a metal wire. The removable stabilization retainer is included in the price at Blid, but if you want a metal wire in addition, we can certainly apply that as well. This costs 3995,- for both the upper and lower jaw. The dentist will be able to advise you on whether this is something you should consider.

We do not recommend eating or drinking anything other than water while wearing the aligners, to avoid discoloration and bacterial buildup. Simply remove the aligners when you are going to eat or drink and rinse them with water before putting them back on. A daily brushing of the aligners with a toothbrush removes bacterial buildup and keeps the aligners clean and nice.
