- Brush your teeth twice a day for at least two minutes.
- Use a soft toothbrush—it’s gentler on the gums.
- Use fluoride toothpaste—don’t rinse with water after brushing, just spit it out. The fluoride should stay on the teeth for at least 1 hour after brushing to be absorbed into the enamel.
- Use dental floss, toothpicks, or interdental brushes daily between your teeth. In the clinic, we can instruct and help you with the correct techniques.
- Drink water as your thirst quencher.
- Avoid excessive sugary and acidic foods and drinks.
- Visit a dental hygienist or dentist regularly (the standard recommendation is once a year). We will provide an individual recommendation after your check-up with us.
- Eat regular meals and avoid snacking between meals.
- Use fluoride rinse if you have multiple cavities, fillings, or if you are struggling with tooth sensitivity. Wait 1 hour before eating and drinking after rinsing for the full effect of the fluoride rinse.
- Avoid tobacco and smoking.
